well today was a 3 ring circus in the bay. The wind had picked up so we decided to stay put because where we were headed was between two islands and it would of become a funnel with winds 30 kn. A few boats left but came back in an hour then 10 charter boats came in. There was mayhem up anchor pulling other anchors up or getting catch on the bottom… lines in propellors a 3 ring circus in a very small bay.Why they don’t hire a skipper it would make their vacation hassle free. So that nite after dinner I showered ( we had water Marco got it from the cafe with the cute waitress I didn’t ask) and came out in my PJ’s (porka dots) Marco took one look and laughed I said whats funny
There are people having dinner and drinks in front of us and you are in you PJ’s
He went for a walk totally embarrassed I sat and had a nitecap with the diners after this day I thought my clown PJ’s were a hit.
You can ask the brits a lot of questions weather forecast,hi tide, were to get a cheap part and were to stay free but NEVER ask were to eat. Marco and I found out the hard way 2 days in the head. Why did we think they know about food the beans on toast and fry up (don’t ask) Good food and the brits are strangers.
Well we are enjoying Greece. The islands are great little coves to anchor in for lunch and a swim except when the cruise ship needs to show the clients a cute bay so we took pictures of each other. The language is foreign but everyone speaks a little english so no problems. Lots of boats .
just a step off for coffee in the morning
the bay is too small for both of us
We are in greece arrived last Sat. We love it. Bad news no internet connect can’t do it month to month like in Italy but will visit cafes when possible.
We left Crotone for St. Maria de Lucia at 6 am. Weather forcast 20knt. but left out the waves of 4-5 mt high (12-16 ft) it was the trip from hel I was wedged in down below while Marco had life jacket and was tied on to the boat. Waves breaking over the boat and cockpit. As we were arriving marco needed me on deck and told me to put on a lifejacket for my on good not question asked on that one. As we were adjusting the geneo the furling line broke and the genoa was loose in the winds Marco had to go forward to cut the halyard and get the genoa down will I held the boat into the wind at 25 knt and 5mt waves He got it down on to the deck and then I had to go forward into my berth to drag the thing into my berth can’t afford to lose the genoa. Thank god for the knife we bought the week before for just such an emergancy. Will shit happems but we made it in one piece.
